A RECOMMENDATION THAT WARMS THE HEART
The Entrepreneuriat Laval network recommended the Advanta team to its founder, Julie-Anne Bergeron-Gilbert, to support the transformation of functional prototypes into an MVP-stage product, in order to conduct field tests with early adopters and gather data to guide future development. The product, a training furniture piece with refined design, blends into living spaces and combines a step, storage, and a pulley resistance system. Designed to encourage daily physical activity, it optimizes space, particularly in the hospitality sector and enhances the user experience.
EXCELLENT GROUNDWORK ALREADY IN PLACE
We were able to get started quickly, since the client already had a fully operational product with all the necessary functionalities. This allowed our team to focus on adapting the product to manufacturing processes and integrating it into a piece of furniture that is easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, and discreet enough to blend into a residential setting.
Much of the technological integration and mechanical development was already in place. Our role was mainly to support the team in transitioning from a demonstrable prototype to a manufacturable product.
A FRESH LOOK
AT YOUR PRODUCT
At the heart of the product is a distinctive training mechanism created by the client's team, based on continuous bidirectional resistance, providing constant tension during both the pull and the return. Building on this foundation, our team worked to optimize its overall integration, rethinking the mechanism's layout, its central positioning within the product, and its impact on stability and balance. This process helped improve usability performance while making assembly easier and enhancing long-term reliability.
SUPPORT ALL THE WAY TO INDEPENDENCE
Through sketches, concepts, and 3D modeling, we redesigned the structure, frame, and mechanical interfaces, then defined the part breakdown and assembly sequences. This process resulted in the complete assembly of a functional prototype, developed in close collaboration with Julie-Anne's team, along with strategic guidance to help connect them with manufacturing partners aligned with their go-to-market goals.
