DESIGN FOR THE IX5
The Sentinel IX5 is a flagship industrial leak testing device designed for demanding production and laboratory environments. Developed in close collaboration with Cincinnati Test Systems, its design expresses precision, confidence, and technical excellence through a refined and contemporary aesthetic. Advanta was commissioned to support CTS in elevating the visual and functional presence of the Sentinel IX5 while preserving the product’s core values of reliability and performance. The result is a strong, self-assured product identity that stands out as a premium solution within its market.

IMMERSION PHASE
Advanta’s design approach began with a deep immersion into the Sentinel IX5’s use cases, constraints, and objectives. This phase allowed the team to fully understand operational requirements, user expectations, and the broader ecosystem in which the product operates. Ergonomics, readability, and functional clarity were carefully analyzed to inform the design direction. This strategic foundation ensured a solution that feels intuitive, efficient, and well adapted to intensive professional use, while remaining fully aligned with CTS’s product vision.
ROBUST AND CUSTOM
VISUAL IDENTITY
The Sentinel IX5 immediately conveys a strong and confident presence. Its design balances robustness with precision, resulting in a product that feels both durable and refined. The die-cast aluminum enclosure reinforces reliability, while clean lines and controlled proportions contribute to a premium visual language. All interface elements, including the touchscreen, physical controls, light indicators, and connectors, are seamlessly integrated to support intuitive interaction. A carefully selected two-tone color palette enhances readability and visual impact across industrial and laboratory environments.
FROM CONCEPT
TO MANUFACTURING
Beyond design, Advanta supported the project all the way through to manufacturing. This included the development of the cast parts, coordination with suppliers for aluminum and plastic production, and the optimization of both mechanical and electronic interfaces. Every detail, from LED brightness to button technology, underwent rigorous testing in close collaboration with the client’s electronics team.
